Ludwig Boltzmann developed an equation to describe the dynamics of an ideal gas.
Boltzmann’s ideas were not accepted by many scientists. Attacks on his work continued and he began to feel that his life’s work was about to collapse despite his defense of his theories. Depressed and in bad health, Boltzmann committed suicide just before experiment verified his work.
Only a couple of years after Boltzmann’s death, Perrin’s studies of colloidal suspensions (1908–1909), based on Einstein’s theoretical studies of 1905, confirmed the values of Avogadro’s number and Boltzmann’s constant, and convinced the world that the tiny particles really exist.
This is a typical example of how the great idea was being rejected but later its importance is recognized and applauded.
Poor Boltzmann, he did not able to experience the success of his work.

Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight? Just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic? Don’t despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work? Think of the man who has been out of work or jobless.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad? Think of the person who has never known what it’s like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend? Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for -$10.00 to feed her family.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance? Think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror? Think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking “what is my purpose”? Be thankful. There are those who didn’t live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people’s bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities? Remember, things could be worse. You could be them!

75-90% of primary physician visits are due to stress.
Stress is a normal physical response to events that make you feel threatened or upset your balance in some way. When you sense danger – whether it’s real or imagined – the body’s defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction, or the stress response.
Effects of chronic stress
The body doesn’t distinguish between physical and psychological threats. When you’re stressed over a busy schedule, an argument with a friend, a traffic jam, or a mountain of bills, your body reacts just as strongly as if you were facing a life-or-death situation. If you have a lot of responsibilities and worries, your emergency stress response may be “on” most of the time. The more your body’s stress system is activated, the easier it is to trip and the harder it is to shut off.
Long-term exposure to stress can lead to serious health problems. Chronic stress disrupts nearly every system in your body. It can raise blood pressure, suppress the immune system, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, contribute to infertility, and speed up the aging process. Long-term stress can even rewire the brain, leaving you more vulnerable to anxiety and depression.

I was reminded with a short story comparing two employees, Employee A and Employee B, who have given the same load of job for a day by their boss. They have different approaches and techniques in accomplishing the task and though it was not a competition on who finishes the job first, it was Employee A who is more skillful and smarter completed the task ahead. And considering that it was the only task given for a day, Employee A had a privilege to sit down, waiting and letting the time passes until the end of the day. When their boss checked the outputs, he lauded both employees for the job well done.
By looking into the situation cited, I commend the performance of Employee A. However, it would be more productive for him if he utilized the remaining time for either planning for his next day task or investing a time for self-improvement rather than by just sitting down and waiting for the close hour of the day. ”Carpe Diem” as Romans said. These words have great meaning for our everyday life – these means “Live the Day” or better said “Organize your day.
Let us not waste every single time of the day especially the remaining privilege time at work. Time has its essence and it has time by itself that when you wasted it, you cannot reset it.

The young man was at the end of his rope.
Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer.
“Lord, I can’t go on,” he said.
“I have too heavy a cross to bear.”
The Lord replied, “My son, if you can’t bear it’s weight, just place your cross inside this room.
Then open another door and pick any cross you wish.” The man was filled with relief.
“Thank you, Lord,” he sighed, and did as he was told.
As he looked around the room he saw many different crosses; some so large the tops were not visible.
Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.
“I’d like that one, Lord,” he whispered. And the Lord replied,
“My son, that’s the cross you brought in.”

Continuing education is a broad term. At its most basic, the field is broken into two main divisions: degree-based programs and non-degree training or workforce development programs.
In the articles published in South Florida Business Journal, Mr. Schwartz explains the two kinds of continuing education.
Some fields – think nursing, accounting and real estate – require more formal relicensing, either annually or every few years. This is considered as degree-based programs.
The other kind of continuing education programs involves professional development for employees looking to improve their skills or learn new ones. Take a field like information technology. It’s constantly evolving. Employers in such an industry could offer continuing education as a way to stay competitive.
We all agree that continuing education is important for everyone, however, we are not sure if it is worth the extra money you put out to pay for it. Well, it is. I would like to convey that the money you spent will come back to you tenfold.
There are lots of ways that you can get the turnovers: you could earn a promotion and of course with a pay increase or you could find a higher paying job but the most rewarding part is your personal satisfaction i.e. by proving to yourself that you are smart and were able to pursue your dreams. You have the confidence and feeling that you have an edge among others who don’t have the certificate or diploma the same as yours.
Finally, even during the time of economic recession, businesses that offer professional development often have a strong track record for employee retention. In fact, employees cite continuing education programs as the No. 2 reason they stay in their jobs, said Susan Porter Robinson of the Washington, D.C.-based American Council on Education.
